Obama is the President because he listens!

November 17, 2010

The common refrain of the opposition is that Obama does not listen. In fact, Obama is the President of the United States becuase he listened to the people, and now, anybody who is too ignorant to understand, is claiming that Obama does not listen.

The fact is, listening is a function of intelligence. Those who do not listen or do not have the capacity to listen, are the very ones that Obama was elected to oppose, and he is doing a wonderful job. It is now upto the people to make sure that his enemies do not do unto Obama, what they did to John Kerry and John Edwards. When it became very clear the Kerry and Edwards were better listeners than Bush and Cheney, Diebold did most of the talking and the listeners did not matter.

Every time somebody says that Obama does not listen, he should pick up more support because the nauseating refrain is getting to be very, very tiresome.

There is something about overreach that most Americans despise, and as long as Obama keeps fighting his enemies, the imbecillic claim that he does not listen is losing its potency. After all,you have to have something to say to be worth listening to, and Republicans are quickly proving to be incompetent to the core.

Is anybody listening?

The following rhetoric from the movie, "The Fountainhead" (1949) is from Howard Roark's Address to the Jury, and it suggests that the complaint that Obama does not listen is merely a consequence of the fact that he is not a "parsitic follower."

The creator stands on his own judgement, the parasite follows the opinions of others. The creator thinks, the parasite copies. The creator produces, the parasite loots. The creators concern is the conquest of nature, the parasites concern is the conquest of men. The creator requires independence, he neither serves nor rules. He deals with men by free exchange and voluntary choice.

The parasite seeks power, he wants to bind all men together in common action and common slavery. He claims that man is only a tool for the use of others -that he must think as they think, act as they act and live in joyless servitude to any need but his own.

You can read the entire speech here and the word "creator" is used to denote a creative, intelligent human being.
